Rebel Wilson is playing the part of Natalie in her new movie, Isn’t it Romantic and it is a hilarious take on your average romantic comedy. In the movie, Natalie is an architect who lives life day-to-day without much happening until she gets mugged.
The mugging leaves her knocked unconscious, and when she wakes up, she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle(between Liam Hemsworth and Adam Devine). It’s funny though because she is a love cynic who would rather be anywhere else. Isn’t it Romantic is full of musical numbers and comedic romance and is going to be in theatres this Valentine’s Day.
Rebel Wilson is well known for her roles in the movies Pitch Perfect, Fat Amy, and Bridesmaids where she plays an outgoing character who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. But she wasn’t always outgoing, and she wasn’t always the center of attention. Read more: Isn’t it Romantic Trailer | Glamour and Pitch Perfect for Rebel Wilson | VanityFair
Growing up she was actually quite the opposite. Her mom was the one to push her to take acting classes, and she had to work really hard to get herself out there more and to ditch the shyness. She decided that she wasn’t going to be the quiet mousey type and she did things to get over it such as joining debate at school.
She is a big star now, and she is living the life of celebrities, but she is still the same Rebel Wilson that her friends and family have always known. Except that she is not quite as shy and recluse. Rebel Wilson even has her own plus-sized clothing line. She has also held onto her ideals and morals. She has a no nudity policy and when she is playing a role that requires nudity she has a double fill in for her.
She left Australia where she is from to pursue her acting career in the United States and instead of taking on roles that were more serious in nature like so many Aussies who migrate to the United States of America. She found that her calling was actually making people laugh. That wasn’t her intention, but when she realized that she was naturally funny rather than try to change it, she embraced it and this has proven to be a smart career move.
Rebel Wilson didn’t always have a smooth road ahead of her, and she’s had her share of bumps in the road. She had to go through a rough breakup with Mickey Gooch, but she got over it, and it has made her even stronger. She has moved onto much bigger and better things, and she hasn’t looked back. Rebel Wilson is here to stay, and her fame has just begun to grow.
