The Quincy: A Hot Bed Of Criminal Activity, New Brunswick, NJ

The Quincy is an apartment complex located in downtown New Brunswick, NJ. The apartment complex designed for the residence of the working class singles and families to reside in; however, despite it’s posh and contemporary look, the Quincy is considered to be an unsafe place for its residence. Several criminal incidences have accorded at the Quincy over the years. The frequency in which these criminal activities keep happening at this complex has made the place unsafe for its residences. The top two notorious criminal incidences to occur at the Quincy are the pizza robbery in 2013 and the shooting in 2015.

 

The pizza robbery occurred on May 7, 2013. A pizza delivery guy was robbed and shot while attempting to deliver pizza at the Northern building in Quincy Circle apartment complex. The residents told him that no one ordered pizza. When going back to his car the pizza delivery guys encountered three men who proceeded to rob him of the pizza and his wallet and then shot him. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the three robbers escape in a dark colored minivan. Later on, it was discovered that the individuals involved in the robbery and shooting were the 21-year old Parysh Wood—a notorious gangster in his community— and his friends.

 

The shooting occurred on October 7, 2015. Gunshots were reported to be heard around the Quincy. At least four shootings were heard, and one person sustained a minor injury and had to be taken to the nearest hospital. Police found various bullets at the scene of the crime.
